มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ขอแสดงความเสียใจอย่างสุดซึ้ง ต่อการจากไปของ ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรีของประเทศญี่ปุ่น
หากจะกล่าวถึงปัญญาชนคนสำคัญของประเทศญี่ปุ่น ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ ถือเป็นผู้นำที่มีความสามารถสูงและมีวิสัยทัศน์ทางการเมือง ธุรกิจ และสังคมที่กว้างไกล มีผลงานเป็นที่ประจักษ์และยอมรับกันอย่างกว้างขวางว่าเป็นประโยชน์ต่อประเทศญี่ปุ่นและประชาคมโลกอย่างเอนกอนันต์
หลังการขึ้นรับตำแหน่งนายรัฐมนตรีของ ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ เมื่อวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2556 ท่านได้ประกาศนโยบายในการกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจ ที่มีชื่อว่า “นโยบาย ธนู 3 ดอก การใช้นโยบายด้านการเงิน การคลัง และการปรับโครงสร้างธุรกิจ ยุทธศาสตร์ที่จะทำให้ประเทศญี่ปุ่นได้รับการฟื้นคืนด้านเศรษฐกิจ และนี่นับเป็นชัยชนะของ ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ หรือที่ได้รับการเรียกขานว่าเป็น “อาเบะโนมิกส์” (Abenomics)
ในฐานะนายกรัฐมนตรีที่ดำรงตำแหน่งยาวนานที่สุด และยังเป็นนายกรัฐมนตรีที่มีอายุน้อยที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ญี่ปุ่น ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ เป็นที่รู้จักในฐานะผู้นำประเทศที่ดำเนินนโยบายกลาโหมและการต่างประเทศ รวมทั้งยุทธศาสตร์การกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจนั้น ความนิยมในตัวของท่านทำให้ไม่มีใครสามารถท้าทาย หรือโค่นล้มตำแหน่งลงมาได้ แต่ด้วยปัญหาทางด้านสุขภาพจึงทำให้ท่านได้ประกาศลาออกจากการทำหน้าที่ไป
เมื่อครั้งที่ ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรี ได้รับการเสนอชือในฐานะดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ สาขาวิชาผู้นำทางสังคม ธุรกิจและการเมือง ในพิธีประสาทปริญญา ประจำปีการศึกษา 2555 นั้น มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิตได้จัดทำหนังสือ และแต่งเพลงที่มีชื่อว่า The Rising Sun ขึ้นเป็นพิเศษเพื่อมอบเป็นของขวัญให้แก่ท่าน
โดยในการมอบปริญญาดังกล่าวนั้น ดร.อาทิตย์ อุไรรัตน์ อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต และตัวแทนผู้บริหารจากมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ร่วมเดินทางไปยังประเทศญี่ปุ่นเพื่อเข้าพบ ฯพณฯ นายชินโซ อาเบะ (Shinzo Abe) นายกรัฐมนตรีประเทศญี่ปุ่นในเวลานั้น และร่วมแสดงความยินดีในโอกาสที่ ฯพณฯ ได้รับมอบปริญญาศิลปศาสตรดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ สาขาวิชาผู้นำทางสังคม ธุรกิจและการเมือง มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ประจำปี 2555 นอกจากนี้ยังร่วมสนทนาพูดคุยถึงความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่าง 2 ประเทศที่ผ่านมา ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศการต้อนรับที่อบอุ่นและเป็นกันเอง ณ ห้องรับรอง ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
นับแต่นั้นมา มิตรภาพ และความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่าง ฯพณฯ ชินโซ อาเบะ และมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต จึงเรียกได้ว่าเป็นความผูกพันต่อกัน วันนี้ได้ทราบข่าวว่า ได้เกิดเหตุการณ์ถูกลอบยิงขณะปราศรัยหาเสียงเลือกตั้งวุฒิสภาญี่ปุ่น ที่เมืองนารา ประเทศญี่ปุ่น

Rangsit University would like to express our deepest condolences for the passing of His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe, the former prime minister of Japan.
As one of the most significant thinkers of Japan, Mr. Abe was a highly capable leader with prescient political, economic, and social visions. His manifest accomplishments were broadly accepted as immensely beneficial to Japan and the world community at large.
After ascending to the prime ministership, in December 2013 Mr. Abe announced the “Three Arrows Policy,” an economic stimulus agenda focusing on flexible fiscal policy, monetary expansion, and structural economic reform as a strategy to revive Japan’s economy. The program was a victory for Mr. Abe and came to be known as “Abenomics.”
As the longest-serving prime minister, and the youngest in the history of Japan, Mr. Abe was recognized for his leadership in implementing defense and foreign policies. His popularity was unchallenged. Only for health reasons did he resign from his duties.
When the former prime minister was named as a candidate for the Honorary Ph.D. in Leadership in Society, Business and Politics, at the 2012 graduation ceremony, Rangsit University produced a book and a song, “The Rising Sun,” as a special present for Mr. Abe.
For that graduation ceremony, President of Rangsit University Dr. Arthit Ourairat, and representatives from the university’s management, traveled to Japan to meet with then Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe, to congratulate His Excellency for the conferral of the honorary Doctorate in Humanities (Leadership in Society, Business and Politics) at Rangsit University graduation ceremony for 2012. We cordially discussed the ongoing good relations between our two nations in a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the reception hall in Japan.
Since then, we have considered the friendship and good relations between Mr. Abe and Rangsit University to have been a special bond. Today, we received the news of the assassination during a senatorial campaign speech in Nara, Japan with great sadness.
The entire Rangsit University community would like to extend our deepest condolences and our hearts go out to his family during this time of sorrow.
